2008 Starts Strong with Full BMW-Inspired Line of Espresso Machines by Saeco
CLEVELAND – March 16, 2008 – Throughout 2007, Saeco USA released a new, full line of super automatic espresso
machines. Now, entering 2008, Saeco is equipped with a range of ten easy-to-use espresso machines to match any
coffee enthusiasts’ beverage needs, modern home décor, and budget.
According to John McCann, president of Saeco USA, all ten new machines were designed for consumers who want
the luxury of enjoying the perfect cup of coffee within the comfort of their homes. Saeco explored every aspect of
the perfect coffee experience when developing these machines, extending the company’s passionate nature to the
design through a partnership with BMW Group Designworks USA. Teaming with BMW Group allowed Saeco to create
espresso machines with exteriors that match the high-quality, innovative internal technology.
Saeco considered the style and uniqueness of every level of coffee elitist during the development process. This resulted
in the Primea, Talea and Odea machines with all-in-one technology, putting the user just moments away from cappuccino, macchiato, and other espresso drinks. In addition to the automatic machine range, the new Nina traditional line of products completes the BMW look of the Saeco range, giving it sleek curves and updated style to a traditional way
of brewing espresso. While varying in features and price points, all four product lines provide users with a simple
way to create the same quality coffee beverages at home.
Primea Line: Includes Primea Touch Plus and Primea Ring
This is the first ultra automatic espresso machine, which includes a fully integrated milk container and frothing device,
resulting in one step dispensing of milk and coffee beverages.
“The Primea line is ideal for the consumer looking not only for the perfect cup of coffee, but also to make a bold and
impressive statement about their lifestyle,” said McCann. “Primea has become a favorite of frequent entertainers
because it provides the ability to offer guests a coffee just they way they like it – from a cappuccino to a macchiato
to a shot of espresso – through user-friendly controls adjusting size, strength and consistency.
Primea is also ideal for a coffee connoisseur who enjoys a range of coffee beverages because many different drinks are one touch away, with Touch2Cappuccino® allowing it to brew two beverages simultaneously. Finally, the machine is extremely intuitive, arriving pre-programmed with sixteen international coffee beverages at the push of a button, and the machine can also adjust to programmable user preferences.”
Talea Line: Includes Talea Touch, Talea Ring Plus and Talea Giro
The design of the unique control panels give each Talea machine its name: the Talea Touch with touch screen operation, the Talea Ring Plus with LCD display and click wheel interface as seen on mp3 players, and the Talea Giro, Italian for ”turn”, which operates at the turn of a dial. Standard one-touch functions include control of the coffee dose, strength, size and the exclusive, patented technology of a Milk Island for perfect froth. Compared to competitive products that
push the milk through the machine to froth, Talea’s Milk Island draws steam to an external carafe, making cleaning
and upkeep easy.
“The invention of the Milk Island ensures all Talea machines will create the perfect froth,” said McCann. “Using the
expertly frothed milk in a coffee drink allows consumers to indulge like never before. Our customers can make a
cappuccino, latte, macchiato and other drinks just like a professional barista. We’ve also seen Talea embraced by
families because it can switch immediately from one strength to another, accommodating multiple tastes. The frothed
milk can be added based on user preferences, and can even be used in other recipes such as hot chocolate.”
Odea Line: Includes Odea Giro and Odea Go
These super automatic machines grind, tamp, brew and dispose of used grounds at the touch of a button for the
freshest cup. The signature Saeco Brewing System and Saeco Aroma System technology maximizes the flavor extraction.
“While all of our new lines are designed for consumers who continually seek the perfect coffee experience, the Odea
simplifies the process through one-touch brewing,” said McCann. “Plus with the Odea Giro Orange we are bringing
a trendy colored machine to market for the fashion-forward crowd.”
Nina Line: Includes Nina, Nina Cappuccino and Nina Bar
Adding to the range of automatic machines, the new Nina line of traditional espresso machines completes the BMW
look, with similar curves and shapes. Equipped with a patented, pressurized filter holder, these three models allow
the user to tamp and brew one or two shots of espresso coffee the traditional way – controlling the extraction time
and amount of grounds used. They also provide convenience to the user who prefers brewing with pods – all while
taking up less counter space and hitting an attainable price point. Ranging from $149 to $199, the Nina traditional
espresso machines are simple, easy-to-use alternatives to the fully automatic range of products.
The new Saeco Primea, Talea, Odea and Nina espresso machines are available at retail outlets nationwide. Suggested
retail prices range from $149 for the Nina to $2,900 for the top of the line Primea machines. For more information
